Audiology Services
Our Services
Advanced Hearing Center offers more extensive services than most audiologists do. We’re not just a hearing aid facility. We’ve expanded into additional services, such as diagnostic testing, balance and dizziness testing, to respond to needs within our community. Hearing loss, vertigo, and other balance disorders that make you feel dizzy can all have a negative impact on your quality of life. We hope to be your one-stop audiology practice in Sugar Land, TX, giving you continuity of care with a single group of medical professionals and one convenient location for every part of your hearing healthcare. We offer the same quality of care for patients of all ages and have expertise in pediatric audiology.
We love being able to tell patients that we can take care of everything here. There’s no need to worry about finding different offices or coordinating between different practices.
Advanced Hearing Care Services
Videonystagmography (VNG) Test
- Hearing aid evaluation: We can determine whether you're a good candidate for hearing aids, which will help us recommend the right hearing aids for you.
- Diagnostic audiology services: To better understand the full scope and cause of your hearing loss, we can run a series of hearing tests depending on your age, symptoms, and medical history.
- Hearing aid dispensing and fitting: We carry a wide selection of advanced hearing aids from different manufacturers so we can find the right choice for you. We are particularly careful about programming hearing aids to be as accurate as possible to each patient's hearing loss.
- Diagnostic hearing evaluations and treatment for infants: We can evaluate newborns that fail a hearing screening at the hospital and can perform Conditioned Play Audiometry (CPA) on older children. We have advanced equipment to perform diagnostic Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR) Testing, Diagnostic Otoacoustic Emissions (OAEs), and Visual Reinforcement Audiometry (VRA).
- Pediatric audiology: Only licensed audiologists like the team at Advanced Hearing Center are qualified to help children with hearing loss. We are able to diagnose kids of all ages and fit them with appropriate hearing aids.
- Vestibular testing: If you are experiencing vertigo, dizziness, or balance issues, we'll conduct a series of tests that will help us determine the cause and come up with a treatment plan.
- VNG testing: Videonystagmography (VNG) is a type of test used to determine if you have a disorder of the vestibular system (the balance structures in your inner ear) or in the part of the brain that controls balance. If you suffer from vertigo or you often feel dizzy, a VNG test can help us determine the cause of your symptoms so we can create a treatment plan tailored to you. Advanced Hearing Center is one of only two offices in the Houston area that has a rotary chair for diagnostic VNG testing.
- Cochlear implant evaluations: For those with severe or profound hearing loss, a cochlear implant may be helpful. We offer cochlear implant evaluations to determine if you would be a good candidate. If the results of your hearing exam indicate you could be helped by a cochlear implant, we can refer you to a specialist for the surgery.
- Cochlear implant programming: After implantation, we can activate and program your cochlear implants based on your unique hearing needs.
- Custom-fit hearing protection: If you work in a noisy environment or are otherwise exposed to loud sounds (such as live music, hunting, or construction sites), it's smart to protect your hearing and avoid hearing loss. We can custom make hearing protection such as earplugs. We can also make musicians' in-ear monitors.
- Tinnitus treatment: Tinnitus, also known as "ringing in the ears," can be an unpleasant and distracting sensation. We can help mask the symptoms with hearing aids and work with you on making tinnitus less of a problem in your life.
